Building a New Life
March 27, 2014

Rajkumari (seen in the background) was a child slave for five years before she was rescued in 2000. She learned the tailoring trade and now runs a brisk business from her home in her village in Dang. She employs three former Kamlari girls and has plans to expand her business.
So many of the freed slave girls want to start their own businesses with the help of FKDF co-ops, there is a need for additional funding. The FKDF is hoping to raise additional money for the system with a new awareness campaign that will start in April. They will be getting some help stateside from the Make a Stand organization in Fairfax.
